This Privacy Policy explains how Tuckbox collects, uses, and protects your information. Tuckbox is designed as an offline-first personal vault application where your documents and records remain on your device.
Tuckbox does not require you to store your documents or records on external servers. All of your data — documents, bills, purchase orders, warranties, loans, mutual funds, to-dos, important dates, passwords, credit cards, bank accounts, folders, and notes — is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database (SQLCipher).
This policy applies to all users of the Tuckbox mobile application.
Tuckbox does not require an account or email to use the app. It collects minimal information required for app functionality:
• Device-level app data (stored locally only)
• A display name you enter on first launch (stored locally only, never sent anywhere)
• Your Google account, only if you choose to enable Google Drive backup — requested on demand, never at setup
Your data is used only to provide the app's features: managing documents, bills, purchase orders, and to-dos.
Tuckbox does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
Tuckbox can scan photos of bills, receipts, purchase orders, and cards to auto-fill fields like amount, date, and vendor. This scanning runs fully on-device using Google ML Kit — no image or extracted text is sent to any server.
All records are stored locally on your device using an encrypted (SQLCipher) database, with the encryption key held in the device's secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain).
Users may optionally connect Google Drive to back up and restore data on another device.
Backup is fully optional and user-controlled. If enabled, your data is encrypted before being uploaded to your own Google Drive, using access scoped only to files this app creates — Tuckbox never sees the rest of your Drive. You can restore or delete backups at any time.
Tuckbox may request the following permissions:
• Internet: Used only for optional Google Drive backup/sync — not required for the app to function
• Camera: Used to scan documents, bills, receipts, and cards (processed on-device only)
• Storage: Used for saving offline data locally and attaching files to documents
• Notifications: Used for reminders on bill due dates and to-dos (optional)
We use encryption and secure local storage practices to protect your data from unauthorized access. Since data remains on your device, security also depends on your device protection (PIN, biometrics, etc.) and the app's own lock/screenshot-guard features.
Tuckbox continuously improves security standards to protect against modern threats.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and application access. We recommend enabling device lock and app lock for additional protection.
Tuckbox uses Google Sign-In and Google Drive solely for optional backup — requested only if and when you enable it in Settings, never as a login requirement. These services do not have access to your stored documents or records unless you explicitly enable backup.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Users are encouraged to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app indicates acceptance of changes.
